3 Ways to Butter Your Freshly Popped Popcorn
You could buy those three-packs of microwave popcorn, push the “popcorn” button on your microwave, and wait with bated breath for the slowing of that “pop, pop, pop” sound before indulging in a bag of artificially flavored buttered popcorn. You could also buy whole kernels and make your own popcorn easily and without those preservatives or artificial flavors.
We vote for the latter.
Nothing beats freshly popped popcorn, and any one of our butter flavors pairs perfectly (obviously), but we have to say that our favorite butter flavors for popcorn are Maple Syrup Butter, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar Butter, and White Truffle Butter.
Now that that’s out of the way, here are some of the best ways to pop that popcorn and top it with Epicurean Butter.
Popcorn popping method 1: on the stove
We like the traditional method for popping popcorn on the stove because anybody can do it anytime. You could buy a fancy stovetop pot just for popcorn or you could use a large saucepan you already own. Turn on the burner to medium-low heat. Add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 kernel to the pan. When that kernel pops, add a 1/4 cup of popcorn, cover with a lid, and gently move the pot from side to side until the popping slows to less than one pop per second. Pour the popcorn in a bowl. Return the pan to the burner, melt your butter in it, then drizzle that popcorn with as much of your melted butter and salt as you desire.
Popcorn popping method 2: micro-pop popcorn popper from ccolution
The Epicurean Butter team has tried every butter gadget there is, but the Micro Pop Popcorn Popper from Ecolution has to be one of our favorites. And, no, this is not a paid placement. We really just love it because you place the butter in the lid so that it melts while the popcorn pops in the microwave. Butter is evenly distributed and the popcorn is delicious! We highly recommend it.
Popcorn popping method 3: air popper
An air popper is just what it sounds like. It pops those popcorn kernels with hot air, which means no oil is required and that makes it lower calorie. However, if you are like us and desire a touch of flavor, then you could try melting a teaspoon of your favorite Epicurean Butter and lightly coat a small bowl of popcorn.
Enjoy!
